Sun's Restaurant is located in the center of San Mateo town. The business owner, is a couple, came from Kaohsiung city of Taiwan to cook and to do everything all the year without holiday.
At the Christmas Eve, American families got together at home to celebrate their greatest festival and Chinese crowded in Chinese restaurants to hold a family party. We came to dinner in the restaurant.
After 1949, Taiwanese meal mixed everywhere of Chinese Northern and Southern to change a special foremost meal. It's delicious to most of thinking of home customers. When we started at the restaurant near five months ago ,
we felt the manager's kindness and enthusiasm like a family . Now we said goodby and a bless to the hard work couple.
At the end of the dinner, we got four fortune cookies . Every cookie had one fortune note inside. Such as " Every burden is a blessing." "Deep faith eliminates fear." "Don't wait for success, start ahead without it." "Enhance your karma by being kind to everyone you encounter."
In spite of believing or not, it's fun and popular at Chinese restaurants of California.
幸運餅乾
老孫餐館位於聖馬刁市中心。餐館老闆是一對來自台灣高雄的夫婦，他們包辦煎煑炒炸及內外場，全年無休。
在聖誕夜，美國人的家庭都在家裡聚餐慶祝他們的重大節日，中國人群聚中國餐廳擧辦家族聚會，聖誕夜我們來到餐廳吃晚餐。
一九四九年以後，台灣飲食混合了中國大江南北的菜色，而發展出獨具特色的一流料理，對想念家鄉的顧客而言，它尤其美味可口。我們初次踏進這家餐廳是近五個月前，感覺老闆夫婦親切熱情像家人，今天我們來道別並祝福這對勤奮的夫婦。
餐後我們拿到四個幸運餅乾，每個餅乾內都附有一張幸運紙條，寫著" 每一個負擔都是一種祝福。" " 信仰消除恐懼。" " 向前行，不要等待成功。" " 善待你遇到的每一個人，將增添果報。"
不管相信與否，這是很好玩的，在加州的中國餐廳非常流行。

Tainan Girls' Middle School in Memory

 
Michelle and her husband are visiting to us .She is my classmate- RongRong's daughter. I was familiar with her mother and grandmother over fifty years. Their family females are the same schoolmates. Seeing Michelle reminded me to remember our mother school.
Provincial Tainan Girls' Middle School was established during the Japanese
rule of Taiwan. The historic red mansion building and palm trails stood in our mind forever. Wax apple trees, mango trees and dragon eye trees.....lots of fruits trees filled with the campus and in our memories. Being the first choice for girls in southern Taiwan, We were the lucky girls through the teenager for six years（1956-1962）.
In that time ,we learned either science and social courses or sewing,swimming,
music, paint,folk dance and athletics. The school library provided many books to lend to us. There were many school activities on campus. We received a balance education on mind and body.
We love our school and deeply appreciate teachers' kindness. We are precious
the over fifty years friendship of classmates and hope our children becoming
good friend and supporter in abroad.
懷念台南女中
Michelle和她的丈夫來拜訪我們。她是我的同學榮榮的女兒，我認識她的母親和祖母已五十多年，她們家的女性都是台南女中校友，看到她不由得想念起我的母校。
省立台南女中成立於日據時代，她頗具歷史的紅樓建築和椰林步道永遠屹立在我們心中。蓮霧樹，芒果樹和龍眼樹等，校園種滿了果樹，也種在我們的記憶中。做為南台灣的第一女校，我們六年的少女時代是何等幸運（1956-1962）。
在那個年代，我們學習的課程包括數理科，社會科及縫紉，游泳，音樂，美術，土風舞，體育。學校圖書舘提供豐富的藏書給我們借閱。校園經常擧辦各種活動。我們接受了平衡的身心教育。
我們愛我們的學校，也深深欣賞懷念老師的春風化雨。我們珍惜超過五十年的同學友誼，也希望我們的子女能成為好朋友，在海外能互相扶持。

Winter Solstice

Winter Solstice
Yesterday was winter solstice. The neighbor Marlak gave us a box of gingerbread, which was baked by herself. She made gingerbread man and many different styles cakes. She said," The gingerbread cakes are the king of cakes in cold winter. " That felt like to eat sesame oil chicken with ginger and rice wine in the winter of Taiwan. The ingredient of ginger original produce in South Asia can keep our body warm in the cold winter. In America, gingerbread is particular associated with Christmas.
Yesterday was the important " Winter Solstice Festival ". In Chinese lunar, a day was both of the longest night and the shortest day . We made boiled balls of glutinous rice flour, were eaten during the cold night. Passed the day, people prepared to fix house and to save food taking a good happy lunar new year.
PC 'vocation starts from this day to January 1 next year. American are happy to welcome New Year.
Yesterday,December 21 /2012, according to Maya's prophecy, the day was at the end of the world .Today morning, we find that nothing happened. We still survive.
冬至
昨天是冬至，鄰居瑪拉克送給我們一盒她親手做的薑餅。她做了薑麵人和許多不同形狀的薑餅。她說薑麵餅是寒冬餅乾之王。那感覺好像在台灣冬天吃加了老薑，米酒的蔴油雞。薑原產於南亞的食材，可幫助我們在寒冬保暖身體。在美國，因寒冬薑麵餅和聖誕節有了特別的聯結。
昨天是中國農曆的冬至節，是夜最長日最短的日子。我們用糯米粉做湯圓，在寒夜煑來吃。中國人過了冬至，就開始準備修繕房子，儲存食物，迎接一個好的快樂的農曆新年。
PC的假期從今天開始到明年一月一日。美國人正快樂的迎接新年。
昨天是二0一二年十二月二十一日，根據馬雅預言，這天是世界末日，今天早上，我們發現什麼事也沒發生，我們仍然存活。

New Learning

New Learning
We wanted to take care of Jeany and her new born baby coming to America. We never thought of learning how to use iPad. To take pictures, to write blog, to send e-Mail, to answer to Skype,and to put pictures on Facebook...all let us feel like that we go abroad to study.
I was writing my homework in blog day by day. PC said, " You may throw out your old dictionary, if you want to know something to search Google." This idea was rude but useful. The dictionary is on iPad,and the books are on iPad, even the pictures are on iPad.....My generation faces the change to turn over my precious things and I know that the future will face more challenges.
NR brought a compass and a piece of map to walk around the city and he wrote an essay on his blog to remark the trip of Forster City. Jeany found Blogger's app and taught us to load up the pictures on blog easily.
At the age of seventy ,we ever thought to live a simple life. We neither care the new product nor care how to use. This trip of learning life is a happy accident.
新的學習
我們為了要照顧Jeany和她的新生兒來到美國。我們從不曾想到要學習使用iPad。照相，寫部落格，發電子郵件，用Skype講話和上傳相片到臉書等，所有這些學習讓我們感覺像是出國留學。
我每天在部落格上寫家庭作業。PC說," 你可以扔掉你的老字典，要知道什麼去搜尋谷歌。"這念頭實在粗魯但真是有用。字典就在iPad上，書在iPad上，甚至相片也在iPad上----。我的這一代面對巨大的改變，我們一向珍惜的事情被顚覆了，我知道未來我們將面對更多的挑戰。
NR帶了指北針和一張地圖去走訪福斯特市，並寫下短文在部落格紀錄這趟旅程，Jeany發現了部落格的指引，教我們容易上傳照片到部落格的方法。
來到七十高齡，我們曾想簡單過生活。我們既不關心新產品也不在意它們怎麼使用。這趟學習生活的旅程對我們是個快樂的意外。

A High Chair

A high chair
Miles is my fifth grandchild, I am happy to join my grandchildren's growth and ever gave a hand. By now, I still learn with new parents how to take care of a baby well. In spite of we have much experiences ,it hard to be an expert. Because every child is different ,we can do our best but can't hold everything.
Jeany bought a high chair to her son . From now, he sits in a safe chair which the height is above the dinner table, and feels eating with his family together. Let him learn how to eat on the fixed seat. I ever chased after my oldest grandson to feed a bowl of meal for several hours , then he was slow in everything. Changing the habit spends his parents many years.
A high chair might train a good habit to eat and will build a way to think of how to do well in anything. Even details are worthy of learning.
高腳椅
小麥是我的第五個孫子，我很高興能參與我孫兒們的成長並助一臂之力。直到現在，我仍跟新手父母學習如何將嬰兒照顧得更好。不管我們有多少經驗，還是很難成為專家。因為每個孩子不同，不管我們多努力還是無法事事圓滿。
Jeany帶回一張高腳椅給她的兒子。從今起，小麥坐在一張高度超過餐桌的安全座椅上，感覺他跟家人一起吃飯。讓他學習如何坐在固定位置上吃飯。我曾經追著大孫子餵一碗飯，餵了幾個小時，也養成他做每件事都拖拖拉拉，他的父母花了許多年的時間才把壞習慣改正過來。
一張高腳椅可訓練吃飯的好習慣，也讓我們在每件事情上，思考有什麼方法可以讓事情做得更好，即使是細節也值得學習。

My Christmas Card

My Christmas Card
When I was a little girl, I liked to go to church every Sunday morning. If I remembered a sentence of Bible that the priest had taught, I could get a Christmas card.
In all my childhood, I collected a lot of Christmas cards which were signed some names who to whom by English , I didn't know what meant in them .But I really loved these cards with snowy world. There were many pretty little houses with chimneys on sloping roofs, Santa Claus wearing red coat to drive his deers cart flew over the night sky .Sparkle stars and splendid Christmas trees brought me to a wonder- land.
When I was a teacher, I always appreciated plenty of Christmas cards flying into from everywhere of my students and my friends. I loved the greeting " Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" to each other.Every year ,to choose ,to send and to receive the Christmas cards were the happiest things. I decorated them on the wall of my living room and enjoyed them.
I didn't know what happened that the letters and greeting cards got less and the postman sent ad mails and bills instead of letters. Recently I seldom received any Christmas Card.
Today, I surprised that my family young generations are all active on Facebook.
我的聖誕卡
當我是一個小女孩時，每個星期日早晨我很喜歡去教堂。假如我能背出上禮拜牧師教導的聖經經句，我就能得到一張聖誕卡。
在我童年歲月中，我收集了許多聖誕卡，卡片內有英文簽了名寫了字，我不知道裡面說什麼。但是我真的喜歡這些雪世界的卡片，裡面有許多漂亮的小屋，斜斜的屋頂上立著煙囪，聖誕老人穿著紅外套，駕駛著馴鹿車飛越黑夜的星空。閃爍的星星，燦爛的聖誕樹，帶領我到奇妙的夢幻世界。
當我是一個老師時，我總是欣賞許多我的學生和朋友從各地飛來的聖誕卡。我愛彼此間的問候，"聖誕快樂!新年快樂! " 每一年，選卡片，寄卡片和收到卡片都是最快樂的事。我把聖誕卡裝飾起居室的牆壁上，時時享受欣賞。
我不知道為什麼我收到的信和致意的卡片越來越少，郵差送來的是廣告信函和帳單不再是信，最近我幾乎不曾收到聖誕卡。今天我驚訝的發現，我家族中的年輕世代都活躍在臉書上。

Fir Tree and Pumpkin
On October,every super-market sold pumpkins,coming from Northern America ,even gathered them in a big square. Many parents brought their children to choose some of them in the pumpkin's hills.
Then lots of different size pumpkins stood in line on outdoor or garden of most of American families.After several days, the pumpkins were carved a face with two eyes ,one nose and a big mouth. At the end of October,they were decorated with candles inside as a jack o' lantern to celebrate Halloween.
Till the fourth Thursday of November,all pumpkins became pumpkin pies lying on the dinner tables to celebrate Thanksgiving Day.
Fir trees appeared on the stage as pumpkins to claim that a great festival is coming. On the square, every fir tree was rolled up gathering.The air smelled of Fir trees. People go back and forth to search an elegant tree to decorate their living room for Christmas .
In Andersen fairy tales ,we read that a little fir tree grew in the forest, he was desirable to be decorated with glittering stars to live in a bright living room and hopeful to see the children's faces light up watching the presents at the Christmas Eve ,then......we felt sorrow for the last fortune of the little fir tree.
In Taiwan ,we celebrate Lamp Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Moon Festival. All the popular festivals, except for having a glorious time at the party, we wish to share love with family and friends kindly .
樅樹和南瓜
十月裡，每一家超市都賣南瓜，甚至將來自北美各地的南瓜，集中在一個大廣場銷售。許多父母帶領他們的子女，在如小山的南瓜堆裡挑選南瓜。
然後見到多數美國家庭，門囗或花園列隊站立許多大小不同的南瓜。幾天後，這些南瓜被刻成一張臉，有兩個眼睛，一個鼻子和一個大嘴巴。到了十月底，它們內部被插了蠟燭做成一個個鬼傑克燈籠慶祝萬聖節。直到十一月第四個星期四，所有的南瓜做成了南瓜派，擺在慶祝感恩節的晩宴桌上。
當樅樹出現在舞台上，就像南瓜一樣，宣布一個盛大節日的到來。在廣場上，每一棵樅樹被捲成圓筒形，成堆放一起。空氣中散發著松香。人們來來回回的搜尋一棵最高雅的聖誕樹，去裝飾他們的客廳。
在安徒生童話中，我們曾讀到一棵生長在森林中的小樅樹，渴望能裝飾著閃亮的星星，生活在輝煌的客廳，享受聖誕夜孩子們看到禮物興奮發光的臉。然後呢?我們悲傷小樅樹最後的命運。
在台灣，我們慶祝元霄燈節，端午節，中秋節。所有受歡迎的民俗節慶，除了慶典時的光輝燦爛，我們更希望大家能和家人朋友親切的分享愛。

Life in the Bay Area

The Bay Area is either the richest or the poorest in California.  Many high technology companies need more workers of genius who are coming from other countries of the world. They will get high income and green card quickly , their demands  create many new consumption, such as Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Jewish market and business. Although a lot of master's or doctor's degree persons want to search suitable jobs are difficult.  People losing job or waiting job depend on saving are hard, especially most of American seldom have a habit of saving. For example, San Mateo County has hundreds stops to provide a free meal to homeless people. Any country is faced the problem of poverty even the richest.  

House-keeper, baby-sitter, nurse are the hot job.Though day care or nurse school the manager needs license .

After school, most of Chinese children learn Chinese, English, math, piano, violin, Kung Fu, tennis ..... So an expert on those courses is really need.

Some positive people explore many new field and found many chances.Some

negative people always look the dark side and upset. Up or down who knows?

生活在灣區
在加利福尼亞州，灣區是最富裕也是最貧窮的地方。許多高科技公司需要更多來自世界各地頂尖人才的員工。他們可獲得高薪，也很快取得綠卡。他們的需求創造許多新的消費，就如中國人，印度人，日本人，韓國人，猶太人的市場和商務。但是有許多碩士，博士卻很難找到適合的工作。人們失去工作或等待工作依頼儲蓄維生是很艱難的，何況多數美國人很少養成儲蓄的習慣。例如聖馬刁郡就有數百個服務站，提供免費餐食給無家可歸的人。任何國家都要面對貧困問題，即使富裕國家也不例外。
管家，保母，護士都是熱門工作，但是育嬰中心或安親班的管理者需要有執照。
放學後，多數中國的兒童要學中語文，英語文，數學，鋼琴，小提琴，功夫，網球等，專精於這些課程的人才是真正需要的。
正向思考的人探索許多新領域，也發現許多新機會。負面思考的人總是看到黑暗面而備感挫折。向上提升或向下沉淪，誰知道?

Over forty years ago ,my aunt and cousins moved to abroad, my classmates went abroad to study and lived in America.Since then I lost them ,because calling telephone or sending telegram were expensive and depending on airmails to connect was getting more or less. Even till my good friends passed away,my feelings were that they were going to a distant country farther than America .

Today, going abroad to study, to travel or to visit is not a heavy burden to most of middle class families of Taiwan.Recently e-Mail and Facebook shorten the distance between countries. We can see pictures and talk with them close to nearby.

Geography distance and mental distance are the feelings in time, degree, space and distance. We can shorten through the ways of technology and enjoy the change.

距離
四十多年前，我的阿姨和表弟妹移民美國，我的同學出國留學並定居美國。從此我就失去了他們，因為打電話或電報都很昂貴，僅靠航空信藕斷絲連。直到我的朋友過逝，我的感覺是她們去了遠方，去比美國更遠的地方。
今天，出國留學，旅行或拜訪，對台灣多數中產階級的家庭都不是沈重的負擔。最近電子通信和臉書縮短了國與國的距離。我們能夠看見相片也能對話，好像近在眼前。
地理的距離和心理的距離是一種感覺，是對時間，程度，空間和距離的感受。我們能夠透過科技的方法去縮短並享受這樣的改變。

Miles is just four months old, he rolls over smoothly and lies on his stomach like a smile curve. He sticks up his hands and legs up and down rapidly but doesn't go ahead.

If you call him " Miles", he gives you a big smile immediately. He knows "Miles" at the start, but he doesn't  understand the name coming from his grandfather thinking over and over and naming " 張千里". 

Because of he was born in Dragon Year. According to Chinese Zodiac, Chinese dragon owns the highest dignity and honor. "千里 " as dragon flys far away in pursuit of a better life.

Carnegie,King of Steel, when he was ten years old, he had many little rabbits, he told children who fed the rabbits would name the bunnies in 

their honor. Then like a magic, all children took care of the rabbits after school. 

It is important to everybody however a name keeps company with a person all his life. Generally,a name is expressed that the aged gives the rising generation a great bless.

小麥已經四個月大，他能靈活的翻滾，他俯臥翹起雙手雙腳像微笑曲線，然後快速的上下撲動，但是無法前進。
假如你叫他" Miles ",他會立刻給你一個燦爛的笑。他開始知道Miles是叫他，但是不了解這名字是來自他祖父反覆思考命名的" 張千里 "。
因為他是龍年出生。根據中國的生肖，中國的龍擁有最受尊崇的威嚴和榮耀的品位，" 千里" 期望他能龍行千里，去追求更好的生活。
卡內基是美國鋼鐵大王，當他十歲時，他有了許多小兎子，他告訴孩子們誰餵兎子，將似他的名字為兎子命名，然後神奇的是，所有的孩子放學後都去照顧兎子。
可見名字對每個人都很重要，因為它陪伴我們一生。名字也是表達長輩對年輕世代最大的祝福。

I am reading a book" How to win friends and influence people." from ibook. It's hard due to my poor English. But it's convenient because of reading from iBook, just clicking.

Two years ago,we passed Santa Barbara and entered a famous book store-Borders. There were many books of novels and children stories, a special area of Jean Austen system novels in exhibition.I loved the classical atmosphere,but couldn't do anything to help the closed fortune. Shopping on line defeated the chain stores.

Technology brings efficient and convenient life. We must think of how to use it for improving life,not afraid of harm in living.

我正從電子書中讀一本書，書名是" 如何贏得友誼並影響人們 ".以我的英文程度讀起來實在有奌困難，但是從電子書看書還真方便，祇要奌一下。
兩年前，我們經過聖塔巴拉拉，進入一家很出名的書店一Borders。裡面陳列許多小說和兒童圖書，並設有一專區展售珍奧斯婷系列小說。我很喜歡這家古典氛圍的書店，但是對它即將結束營業的命運，完全無能為力。網路書店打敗了這家著名的連鎖書店。
科技帶來有效率和便利的生活。我們必需思考的是如何利用它改善生活，而不是害怕生活受到傷害。

Jeany and I took a walk on Sunday afternoon . We saw a  yellow lemon tree in 

the sunshine. Jeany sung a song, " I 'm turning my head up and down. I 'm turning turning turning turning turning around. And all that I can  see is just another lemon tree."

"So beautiful Lemon Tree, I love it."

 An American couple stood up and opened the gate and shook hands with us." That song is our song , when we were young ......I wonder how.I wonder why. Yesterday you told me about the blue blue sky. And all that I can see just a yellow lemon tree." They were singing merrily by the lemon tree, and talked about Fool's Garden with Jeany  in a great pleasure.

They picked two lemons to us and told us how to cook chicken with lemon inside. In American recipes use lemon instead of Chinese rice vinegar.

At all times ,there were popular singers and popular songs, that always reminded us happy memories of passing time. What's my song?

檸檬樹
Jeany和我星期日午後去散步，看到迎著陽光的黃色檸檬樹。Jeany隨口唱起," 我抬頭低頭，我轉啊轉我的頭，這樣我就能看到另一棵檸檬樹。"
" 好漂亮的檸檬樹，我好喜歡。"
一對美國夫婦站起來打開門，並和我們握手。" 那支歌是我們的歌，當我們年輕時---"
" 我想知道怎麼了，我想知道為什麼，昨天你告訴我有關藍藍的天空。我看見的僅僅是一棵黄檸檬樹。" 他們站在檸檬樹旁唱得很快樂，也極愉悅的跟Jeany談起當年主唱者Fool's Garden 。
他們摘下兩顆檸檬送我們，並告訴我們如何用檸檬塞進雞腹內烹調檸檬雞。美國食譜中常淋上檸檬汁替代中國人的米醋。
各個年代，都有受歡迎的歌星和流行歌，總能讓我們憶起往日情懷和歡樂時光。而我的歌是什麼?

impressions of the store are the good qualities coming from employee.

All workers look like retired men working a part- time or a second full- time

Job.They were honorable and polite to listen the customers with attention,then introduced the suitable furniture in patient. They replied any questions gently.
We liked the quiet atmosphere of the showroom and the good manner of employee.

In Taiwan, we hardly consider that some careers are fitting for the retired men wanting to work again. They may not be efficient like an Apple Store' worker, but they may achieve target effectively in some careers.

梅西傢俱店位於聖馬刁，有很大的展示空間，提供了各種各類的產品，包括沙發和起居室，臥室，餐廳的各種傢俱。
我對此傢俱店的深刻印象，旣不是八折加免運費的優惠，也不是一年保固。而是它的優良品質的員工。所有的員工看來都像退休人員作部分工時或二度就業的人，他們彬彬有禮，專注的傾聽客戶需求，然後很有耐心的介紹合適的傢俱。他們回答任何問題態度溫和。我們喜歡展示空間人多卻安靜的氛圍和員工的斯文有禮。
在台灣，我們很少考慮到有些行業適合退休後想再工作的人。他們也許不像蘋果總店的員工那麼有效率，但是在有些行業他們能更有效用的達成目標。

A Code of Identity

Along the Bay shore ,taking a walk is a pleasure time . There are many beautiful gardens, extraordinary colorful roses are the best scenery. Above all, the perfect difference of two gardens always catch my eyes .I wonder who are the owners?Isn't a Chinese? a  Japanese?

A garden was built a trellis latticework by wood,  then the vines of luffas climbed up and twisted with leaves and stems .After yellow flowers smiling in the warm sunshine, plenty of luffas were hanging from the vines.

And on other sides,was planted various vegetables, such as cabbages, green onions, sweet potatoes and onchais(空心菜).

Another garden was planted pine trees in order and cut into various styles. The stone lanterns of temple are around a small pond feeding several golden fishes. It appears a graceful,calm and artificial beauty.

Both of the gardens,seem telling some words, "my owners came from Eastern. In deep mind ,they had a code of identity."

認同密碼
沿著灣岸散步是非常愉快的時光。有許多美麗的花園，極鮮豔多彩多姿盛放的玫瑰是絶佳景色。其中有兩座完全不同風格的花園，總是吸引我的目光，佇足而思，這是誰家庭園?主人是中國人?日本人?
一個花園用木頭搭建一座絲瓜棚架，不久就看到絲瓜藤攀爬而上，纒繞著莖和葉，接著開出許多小黃花，在溫暖的陽光下微笑，慢慢的從藤蔓中垂掛下一條條絲瓜。
在另一邊種了各種蔬菜，像高麗菜，綠蔥，甘藷和空心菜。
另一個花園種了許多小松樹，排列整齊且修剪各種造型。養著金魚的小池塘周圍置放了幾座寺廟的石燈座。散發出優雅，寧靜，人工化的美麗。
這兩個花園似乎在訴說，我的主人來自東方，在內心深處存在著認同的密碼。

Both Depreciation of US Dollars and low Home Loan interest rates lead to the rising real property ( includes land and buildings and anything affixed to the land.) price. Asian new immigrations ,in particular Silicon Village young engineers, move into the Bay Area. The aged move out.

Though in Taiwan,the price of real property near railroad station,MRTstation, traffic crowded area is more expensive than others. In the Bay Area, the people consider to live in an area that has crowded strangers not safe. In here, Living areas are apart from commercial areas. Approaching to the crowd ,the realty is cheap.

The aged of the Bay Area move to other States or buy the cheaper area. Neither care good school district nor worry about the distance to work ,taking the train better than driving a car ,they will choose by the train station. They

make profits by buying and selling ,and then they creat " Pension" by themselves.

遷入遷出
由於美元貶值及低房貸利率導致房地產價格上升( 房地產包括土地，建築物和附著的地上物 ),亞洲新移民，尤其是矽谷年輕工程師移入灣區，年長者移出。
雖然在台灣，房地產靠近火車站，捷運站及交通，人潮擁擠的地區較昂貴。但是在灣區，人們考慮到居住在許多陌生人擁擠的地區不安全。而且這裡商業區和住宅區是分開的，靠近人潮進出的地區反倒便宜。
灣區的年長者搬到其他州或買較便宜的地區。年紀大了，既不必考慮好學區，也不必考慮上班的距離，搭火車比自己開車便利，他們會選擇搬到車站附近。而且在買賣間獲得的差價利潤為他們自己創造出一筆養老金。

"My baby was born for three and half months ,but my figure didn't recover from losing shape. I want to buy official well-fitting dress."

 Sopping at the department store , Jeany tried on out-fit again and  again,finally she didn't feel well."Let's go to food court."

" If you are less eating and more walking,you will build a good shape.The original clothes

will remind you never to give up ."

In Costco , a large amount of products or food are packed in common one unit and

in restaurants, they provide a great serving size meal and a large cup of drink.Even now plenty of meat ,fried food and spreading butter,peanut,jam over the bread are filled with the generally served Lunch. Thinking over that we wolf down so much food is incredible.

Otherwise,every one drives a car going to work ,to shop,to travel ,hardly takes

a walk around the neighborhood.Coming home from work becomes a couch potato usually. 

A healthy life is necessary ,and then the figure will be in well-fitting of dress.

" 我的嬰兒已出世三個半月了，但是我走樣的身材還是沒恢復過來，我得去買適合上班的衣服。"
逛百貨公司，Jeany 拿起套裝一套一套的試穿都不滿意，最後說," 走吧!去美食廣場。"
" 如果你少吃一奌，多走一奌，你將會有好身材，原有的衣服會提醒你,絶不放棄。"
美國Costco的農產品和食物，每一單位的包裝份量都很多。餐廳提供的每份餐奌都是大份量，飲料大杯。即使現在，一般銷售的午餐，都充斥著大塊肉，油炸食物，夾了滿滿奶油，花生，菓醬的麵包。想想我們狼呑虎嚥這麼多食物，真不可思議。
此外，每個人出門工作，購物，旅行都開車，很少看到有人在社區散步。下班回到家通常就成了沙發上的馬鈴薯。
健康的生活是必要的，如此才能有適合的身材穿合身的服裝。

Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday in the United States,on the every fourth Thursday of November.It's celebrated in memory of the pilgrims and in order to give thanks for harvest.

Thanksgiving Day,also called as Turkey Day, is traditional day for families and friends to get together for a special meal that often includes a turkey, potatoes, pumpkin pie and vegetables.Saying Grace expresses thanksgiving for the blessing in life.

Now,some people have a four-day weekend for taking a trip or shopping at the  mall, especially Black Friday Sales , crowds rush into Walmart or Target stores which are pushing the retail craziness even further.Paragon Outlets just new opening in Livermore are people mountain people sea.The holidays are full of commercial ad. and business.

Immigrations come from different countries, races, religions, culture. Such as Chinese Celebrated Moon Festival at lunar August 15,the feelings better than Thanksgiving Day. To most of Chinese,they didn't care eating turkey or chicken on Thanksgiving dinner.

The original significance of Thanksgiving Day is in changing.

感恩節在改變中
感恩節在每年十一月的第四個星期四，是美國的國定假日，為了紀念清教徒和感恩豐收。，
感恩節也叫火雞節，傳統中家庭和朋友會聚在一起，吃一頓豐盛的火雞大餐，包括火雞，馬鈴薯，南瓜派，蔬菜。並祈禱表達感謝生命中所得到的祝福。
現在，一些人會因為四天的假期安排旅遊，或到大型商場購物，尤其黑色星期五的大特賣，人潮衝進Walmart和Target商場，它們正推出瘋狂清倉大促銷。加州利弗摩的Paragon Outlet新開幕，更是擠到人山人海。感恩節假期充斥著商業廣告和商業活動。
大量的移民來自不同的國家，種族，宗教，文化。就如中國人對慶祝農曆八月十五日的中秋節比感恩節更有感覺，對多數中國人來說，他們不在乎感恩節晚餐吃的是火雞還是雞。感恩節原始的意義正在改變中。

"Jeany,you buy a new sofa,how to do the used furniture?"
"I donate it through the Internet."
Someday ,a big light box came from Amazon," What's in it?" I was curious to look that a small toy was wrapped in a lot of vacuum small bags."Wow,lots of trash."
We look at our trash-diapers,boxes,food products,the grocery bags,packages,bottles...."..Every day we produce so much trash,where are they going?"
"In here,every family must pays for cleaning and buys three trash cans,that includes compost(green color),recycle (blue color)and garbage( black color).Every Friday morning ,three cleaners drive different truck with machine to tack the trash away."
 By the side of parks,paths,roads,we can see a trash can of dogs,that the owners of dogs must pick up their pets trash to put into them.
Compost cans include waste vegetables,fruits,food product and plant to mix pets trash becoming compost.
Recycle cans include waste boxes,paper,bottles to break into pieces and reproduce.
Other  unwanted or undesired waste material put into the garbage can,include plastic products.
In Taiwan,the factories make the warm and soft blankets from the waste plastic bottles .There are lots of volunteers of Buddhist group- 慈濟 ,they classify the waste material in details and recycle them.
In spite of making a pledge,we must reduce the amount of tra sh that ultimately end up in our landfill or incineration.Because we live in only planet-Global.

" 我透過網路捐贈出去。"
有一天，Amazon寄來一個很大卻很輕的大包裹，我很好奇裡面裝什麼?打開紙箱一看，是一大堆的真空袋包覆一個小玩具。
" 哇!好多的垃圾唷! "
我們檢視家裡的垃圾一尿片，紙箱，廚餘，塑膠袋，包裝盒，瓶子----,每天我們製造這麼多垃圾，它們將往何處去?
" 在這兒，每家每月必須付清潔費，並購買三個垃圾桶，包括緑色的肥料桶，藍色的資源回收桶及黑色的垃圾桶。每個星期五早晨，會有三個清潔人員分別開著三輛裝機械吊臂的卡車，來將垃圾載走。"
在公園，小徑及馬路旁，都設有狗的垃圾桶，狗主人必須撿拾寵物大便丟入其中。
肥料桶內包括丟棄的蔬菜，菓皮，食物殘渣，樹枝樹葉混入狗屎成肥料。
回收桶內收集紙箱，紙類，瓶子絞碎回收再製
其他無用的及不要的廢棄物丟入垃圾桶，包含塑化產品。1
在台灣，工廠將丟棄的塑膠瓶製成溫暖柔軟的毛毯。佛教團體如慈濟，有許多義工將廢棄物分類並回收可用資源。
我們必須保証垃圾減量，畢竟垃圾最終去處是掩埋場或焚化爐。而我們居住的地球祇有一個。

Miles tries to turn over

Miles tries to turn over again and again.He bends his head toward back and lifts his leg to put on another side.He does his best to turn but fail.Sometimes I gave a hand to push him on his side and then he turned with energy.He felt success  and excited as a frog wanting to move ahead.Every day he tries hard but never gives up. Someday morning ,we will be surprised in his turning over by himself.

A story of a great president watched that fishes fought against the river up and up,to pluck up his courage to go ahead .At last he became a great man.Although the story kept company with me all my childhood.But Miles is true feelings to me. To learn never giving up from a baby's activity is incredible.
小麥嘗試翻身
小麥 嘗試翻身一次又一次。他側仰頭向背後彎，擧起一隻腳跨向另一邊。他很努力的嘗試轉身，但失敗了。有時候，我幫忙推他一下轉向另一邊，他順勢用力翻過去。他感覺成功，興奮得像一隻要往前移動的小青蛙。每一天他都很努力的嘗試，絶不放棄。也許有一天早上，我們將很驚訝的發現他自己翻過去了。
從小我們就讀過一個故事，一個大總統看到魚逆流而上，一再跳躍挑戰激流，振奮起他前進的勇氣，最後成功為偉人。雖然這故事陪伴我整個童年，但小麥對我是真實的感受。
竟然是從嬰兒的活動中，學習不輕言放棄的道理真不可思議。

American Pork

American Pork

" Can you smell the pork a litter bad?"

"It's fresh.All American pork has the smell,but the pork of Costco is better than others."

"When  we cooked the American pork,we added more rice wine,ginger, green onion to reduce the smell."

In Taiwan ,the piglets were castrated to grow up fast and then the pork better delicious without the bad smell. Though  American considered that any action to lose the natural function of creature is wrong. Based on the conscience of humanity, there is no reason to complain about the pork. 

I often use Jiu chai(韮菜),ginger and sesame oil mixing to wrap up dumplings.The heavy flavor of jiu chai can cover the little bad smell of the American pork.

" 這是新鮮的，所有美國豬肉都有這樣的味道，Costco的豬肉已經是比較好的。"
" 我們煑美國豬肉多加米酒，薑，蔥，可降低腥味。"
在台灣，小豬仔都閹過，長得快且肉質可口沒腥味。美國人認為任何使動物喪失自然功能的行為都是不對的。基於人道良心，我們沒有理由抱怨豬肉。我通常用韮菜，薑和蔴油拌肉來包水餃。韮菜香氣較濃可涵蓋美國豬肉的味道。

Solo Sports

Solo sports

Both changing mind and changing life style are the important course .When I retired from a career that was full of interesting active people.Suddenly every day was the same with quiet and lonely house.

Except taking a walk, I need a sport that can do by myself and doesn't require

an organized team.

Tai Chi Ch'uan, a section of Wudan Kung Fu of Chinese Martial Arts, is a traditional Chinese sport. I  learned some primary routines that included of breathing in and out, stretching, turning, kicking ,boxing, wresting and seizing slowly. It's defense training
and it's health benefits.

Both of them put emphasis on the external practice ,an athletics for muscle, bone and skin keeping in good health.
Solo Sports such as Tai Chi Ch'uan ,a team of one , don't  require equipment,  don't worry about sunny day or rainy day, at any time, any place. I can do it by myself.

一個人的運動
改變心態和改變生活方式兩者都是重要的課題，當我從一個有趣且充滿活力的職場退休下來，突然每天日子都一樣，面對的是安靜孤獨的房子。除了散步，我需要一種可獨自做，不需團隊組織的運動。
太極拳是一種武當功夫，屬中國武術。是一種傳統中國人的運動，我學了一些基本招式，包括慢慢的呼吸吐納，伸展，轉身，踢，擊，扭，抓。，
它是防禦的訓練，有益身體健康。這些基本動作著重外在身體的練習，是一種使肌肉，骨骼，皮膚保持在健康狀況的體育活動。
一個人的運動像太極拳，自𢦓一隊，不需裝備，也不必擔心晴雨，任何時候，任何地方，自己一個人就可運動。

  " How are you going to spend your vacation?"
  "Let's plan a vacation trip to the snowy mountain,living in a cabin for several days."
Jeany and p.c.invited us to get a trip on vacation.
 " Why do you want to live in a cabin? It's not convenient."
 " Because we could experience early immigrant life to understand them how to work hard in snowy winter."
 "Wow,you spend lots of money to experience poor life."
I bothered that  I prefer saving money to experience poor life. Though enjoying in the sunshine at home is better than shivering with cold in the snowy mountain ,however sunshine is free. Life is beautiful but not always comfortable.I haven't romantic imagination for a long time.
Many years ago,I invited my mother- in-law to travel in the mountain .
She said," I grew up in the mountain for eighteen years, I wonder why can you appreciate so much ?" Time flies, I am coming to the boring time.
度假
" 你們預計怎麼度假? "
" 讓我們計畫一個度假旅遊，到雪山住小木屋幾天如何? "
Jeany 和PC邀請我們一起去度假旅遊。
" 你們為什麼要去住小木屋?那不方便。"
" 因為我們可以體驗早期移民生活，了解他們在冬天冰雪中如何艱困求生? "
" 哇!你們花那麼多錢去體驗窮困生活。"
這真叫我為難，我寧願省錢去體驗貧窮生活。而且在屋內享受陽光比在寒冷的雪山中發抖好多了，
何况陽光是免費的。生活是美好的，但不總是安逸的。我失去浪漫的想像力已經很久了。
許多年前，我邀請婆婆到山中旅行。她說，" 我成長於山中十八年，我很想知道為什麼你玩得這麼高興? " 時光飛逝，我已經到了這無趣的年齡了。

，Talk about    Foster City

Foster City, a green city, is known for it's natural beauty .Lots of parks,grass,

flowers,woods ,trails are by San Francisco Bay Area.The yachts are cruising on the lake,kinds of water birds float on water.The beautiful scenery in warm weather and fresh air is a populated region.

A good school district is the most attractive to Chinese and Indian.Since education is very importance,many immigrations move into the city,in particular young engineers.

This city impressed me that grandparents  come here to take care of their grandchildren.On the weekends,we always saw the Asian families on a tour or in restaurants three generations together,that Asian family culture is different from American style.Especially every young people is the family' only child in China,their parents make effort to do their best to protect them.

More and more young engineers move into the city who have high incomes,

and high cost of living.The buildings  were paid for sale or for rent a higher price than most other regions.

From southern San Francisco to San Jose of Bay Area is called Silicon Village that is the center of information ,Foster City is located about 25 miles(  1 mile=1.6km ) south of San Francisco .

再談福斯特市(2)，
福斯特市是一個綠色城巿，以它的自然美麗而著名。許多公園，綠地，花草，樹林，小徑 繯繞舊金山灣區。遊艇風帆巡遊湖上，各種類水鳥浮游水面，溫暖的氣候和清新的空氣使得風景更加令人心曠神怡。
好學區對中國和印度移民最具吸引力，因為重視教育，許多新移民遷入這個城市，尤其是年輕工程師。
這裡讓我印象深刻的是許多祖父母來照顧幼兒。在週末，我們總是看到三代同堂一起旅遊或在餐廳聚餐，這是亞洲的家庭文化迥異於美國的生活方式，尤其中國人，每一個年輕人都是家中的獨生子女，父母更是傾力保護下一代。
越來越多的年輕工程師移入這城市，他們高所得也高生活消費，因此住房不論購買或租用都必需比其他地區付出較高代價。灣區從南舊金山到聖荷西被稱為矽谷，為資訊中心。福斯特市位於舊金山以南二十五英哩(1 英哩=1.6 公里 )。

The Words

Jeany worried about us thinking of Taiwan and losing appetite to American foods.She wanted to buy some Chinese food through the Internet,but need more quantity to get free shipping,she held "group buying".Immediately,got the reflections.

"Jeany,are they your friends?."

"Not yet,they will be my friends soon."

"These are Chinese food.Why are the interested members without coming from China?" I wondered .

"Because I used Traditional Chinese on my Facebook."

"And none comes from Hong Kong?"

"Because Hong Kong used some local words are different from Taiwan."

Recently Jeany downloaded Chinese Tong Song Dynasty poetry on Simplified Chinese for me,otherwise I was confused on reading them.

The debate on traditional and  simplified Chinese characters  has been a long- running issue among Chinese communities.Nevertheless, the words in ancient Chinese literature had deep and imagine space,literary works depending on graceful and beautiful words achieved more feelings.But I was sad in reading the poems with the broken and lost the original meaning words，how to express the beauty.

Jeany擔心我們想念台灣，也怕我們對美國食物失去胃口，想透過網路訂購中國食品，但是要量大才能免運費。他辦了團購，立刻得到回響。
" Jeany,他們是你的朋友嗎? "
" 現在還不是，很快就會是我的好朋友了。"
" 這些都是中國食品，為何有興趣的人裡面沒有來自中國的人? "我有點困惑。" 因為在臉書上，我用繁體字。"
" 也沒有來自香港的人?"
" 因為香港有些方言文字跟台灣不同。"
最近Jeany下載了簡體字的唐宋詩詞給我讀，我知道為了繁體字和簡體字的爭議，在中國社團和研討會中已爭論許久。但不管怎樣，文字在中國古典文學中，有深度和想像空間，文學作品因典雅和優美的文字而臻於更高境界的感受。我傷感於閱讀這些破碎的文字，如何能充分表達詩詞的婉約優雅。

The Wanderer

Jeany and I joined a reunion of schoolmates and listened  to an artist's speech.The speaker talked about the article "The wanderer" .His pictures mixed eastern and western coming from  that he suffered from an identity crisis.
He was born in China ,growing up in Taiwan.After graduated from university ,he studied and lived in Madrid of Spain for a long time .Then he went to America and obtained Citizenship.In deep mind,he asked himself," Where is my homeland?" " Will it be my address,my ID or my spirit?"
The wanderers who wander from place to place with no permanent home .Gypsy is considered the famous wandering race. But otherwise Chinese were taken off their homeland by war, poor ,natural harm or policy of Government and carried them on their way.Hardly due to explore or want to get freedom by his own spirit.It is different from Western people.
To wander is a romantic image in Chinese poetry.Most of people like the idea at heart but never to do in all their life.So do I.
流浪者
Jeany和我參加校友聚會，聽了一場藝術家的演講，主題是一流浪者。主講者談到他的畫融合東西方，來自於他的認同混淆。
他出生在中國，成長於台灣。大學畢業後留學西班牙，在馬德里住了很久。然後到了美國，取得美國公民。在內心深處，他常自問一何處是我家?是我的地址?國籍?還是我的心靈?
流浪者指的是從一個地方流浪到另一個地方，居無定所。吉普賽是最著名的流浪民族。儘管中國人歷代以來也曾因為戰爭，貧窮，自然災害或政府的政策而遷徙，但極少是自發性的為冒險或追求自由而離家背井，這跟西方人有很大的差異。
在中國的詩歌中，流浪是很浪漫的想像。許多人內心嚮往流浪，但終其一生不曾付諸行動，我就是。

The Neighbor

Coming from Republic of IRAN,Marlak and Ali have dark hairs and pretty smile faces.We are the next-door neighbors.

"Congratulations!"they heard baby's crying to give us a big blessing.Every day they are interested in baby's conditions." Baby,your hair is so nice." " Baby ,I love you so much, may I hold you?"

" You will become grandparents soon."

"Not yet, my son has a girlfriend,but they do not think about getting married."

"We admired that Jeany married to P.C.both are similar background and value system.We wish our son and daughter to marry with Persia young people,but they are born in America.They have changed no more Persia recognition.They refused to consider our any suggestions."

New immigrants in America,though make a great effort to keep original culture and living style,but the second generations differ from their parents.For example Miles was born in America.He is an American.He will accept American education and make friends with Americans.Till he is an adult .Will he mind to marry a Taiwanese girl? I am not sure.

隣居
瑪拉克和阿里是我們的緊鄰，他們來自伊朗，有著黑頭髮和親切的笑容。
他們聽到嬰兒的哭聲，立刻道喜，給我們大大的祝福。他們對嬰兒極有興趣，每天問候嬰兒的情況。" 寶貝，你的頭髮好多唷! " "寶貝，我好愛你，我可以抱你嗎? "
" 你們也會很快當祖父母。"
" 還早，我們的兒子有女朋友，但是還不想結婚。"
" 我們很羨慕PC和Jeany能有相似背景和價值觀的婚姻。我們希望兒女和波斯年輕人結婚。他們生在美國，對波斯的認同感已經改變了，他們不考慮我們的建議。"
新移民在美國，儘管很努力的保持固有文化和生活型態，但是第二代還是跟父母親不同。例如小麥生在美國，他是美國人，他將接受美國教育交美國朋友，等他長大，他會介意一定要娶個台灣女孩嗎?這我真不敢確定。

Miles coming to three months old
After tomorrow,Miles will be three months old.He can express "No" with loud voice not crying.To focus speaker's mouth seems learning language.He smiles
at similar family ,and sounds different pronunciations following singer.Every day he exercises his hands and legs hard on the blanket.
Begin the first day when he was born,his parents recorded time,quantity of his feeding, pee,poo,sleeping,bathing,activity exactly on a board.They analyzed and estimated his living routine.They hoped to find a better way to bore and train their son to keep a good rule.
Miles is a healthy and happy baby.We wish that he will be independent and responsible.
小麥快三個月大了
後天小麥就要滿三個月了，他已經會以尖叫而不是哭號，表達一不要。他會盯住說話人的嘴巴，彷彿要學說話。他會對熟悉的家人笑，會跟著唱歌的人發出許多不同的聲音。每天他很努力的在墊子上手腳運動。
從他出生的第一天，他的雙親就在大白板上紀錄他餵食，大小便，睡覺，洗澡，活動的正確時間、數量。他們分析和估計他的生活常規，希望能發現更好的方法去養育和訓練他們的兒子保有良好的紀律。
小麥是個健康快樂的嬰兒。我們希望他將來會是個獨立有責任感的人。

The moment

Amazing!
At the sunset,thousands of birds fly in the bright sky,turning around up and down.We hold our breath to see the wonderful view.Then they are surfing over the surface of sea water,crossing to the shore and stay on the rocks crowded together.
It's my first view to see the flocks of birds migration moving, except on the pictures or movies.So huge,so great.
At the moment,every one shocks in the beauty of nature.The true scene is far from watching TV' scenery.The  feelings of this moment will be forever in our life.
霎那
令人驚嘆!
在落日的光暉中，成千上萬的鳥兒飛進晚霞燦爛的天空，上下盤旋，我們屏息的看這驚人奇妙的景觀。然後牠們滑翔於海上，越過水面，停向灣岸岩石上，密密麻麻的擠在一起。
除了看照片和電影，這是我第一次看到候鳥遷徙的景象，好壯觀好偉大波瀾壯濶的場面。
霎時，每個人都震撼於大自然的美麗。看電視的場景無法與真正置身其中的感覺相比，霎那的悸動驚嘆將永遠銘刻於生命中。

"Don't worry.My Roombot works hard to clean the blanket every day.We don't mind cleaning up.By the way ,join the Potluck Party,every one will take a dish.We don't prepare too much."
"Hi,we are coming!" Several families come in one by one at six o'clock on Saturday afternoon."Welcome!"
Birds of a feather flock together.Living in Silicon Village,a information center, they are all electrical engineer's families.They graduated from outstanding university and work on famous enterprises.They love their jobs and families,their style in engineer prefer quality to quantity,out of fashion but the best.
They introduce their families to each other, immediately all become a big family.
Living in abroad ,friendship and relationship are precious.
辦一個餐會
" 媽媽，週末我們要辦一個餐會. "
" 要怎樣大掃除和準備食物? " 對這個餐會，我開始緊張起來。
" 不必擔心，我的清潔機每天都很努力工作，地毯很乾淨，我們不必在意掃除的間題。再說參加這種餐會，每個人都會帶一道菜來，我們不必準備太多食物。"
" 哈囉!我們來了! " "歡迎! 歡迎! " 星期六下午六奌，幾個家庭陸續到來。
物以類聚，住在科技中心的矽谷，他們都是科技工程師的家庭，都畢業於傑出大學，服務於著名企業，他們都愛工作、愛家庭，是典型工程師風格，重質不重量，不時髦但是極有品味。
他們互相介紹家人，立刻大家熱絡得像個大家庭。生活在海外，友誼和親人都特別珍惜。

Crystal Springs is a large and beautiful dam, like a blue jewel. The trail around the dam was completed 15.3miles (1mile=1.6km) near Foster City.The creation attractive and famous to the tourist actually is a water resource preserved area.
Every day, lots of people visit it.The young  are hiking, biking, running on the trail.The aged are walking leisurely.The children are following their parents step by step.The kids are sitting on their fathers' shoulders or being held by their parents.The babies are sleeping in their strollers.Most of  families cover three generations,relaxing and breathing fresh air in the forest .The flat and safe trail are suitable to all ages .
"Hello!"Some backpackers say to the tourists with a big smile .They are going camp to explore  an exciting life.In the scenery spot,every tourist is bathing in crystal clear springs to enjoy a healthy day .
到水晶泉小徑健行
水晶泉是一個大又美麗的水庫，像藍寶石般的晶瑩剔透。環繞水庫的小徑已修建完成15.3英哩長(1英哩=1.6公里).這著名又吸引眾多遊客的水庫在福斯特巿附近，其實是水資源保護區。
每天拜訪的遊客絡繹不絕，在小徑上，年輕人健行，騎單車或跑步；年長者悠閒的漫步；孩子們跟著雙親亦步亦趨；幼兒坐在爸爸的肩膀上或被抱在臂彎裡；嬰兒甜睡在推車裡。許多家庭是三代全員出動，輕鬆的在森林中吸收新鮮空氣。因為平坦又安全的小徑適合所有年齡層的人來玩。
哈囉!一些背包客對著遊客開懷大笑的打招呼，他們是一群要去野營探索生命力的年輕人。每一個遊客都沐浴在像水晶清泉般的景緻中，享受了健康的一天。

Traveling to America for the aged ,Northern California is a good choice.
In San Francisco Bay Area,Chinese citizens are over one million.Poor English isn't a problem.We had prepared how to answer the questions for passing the custom officials,but they speak Chinese to the aged Chinese. In the airport ,the workers will give a hand to anyone in need with Chinese.Don't worry about losing appetite to American food. There are Chinese super market-Ranch and Marina and lots of Chinese restaurants.
The weather is warm in the sunshine,cooler in morning and evening,suitable for traveling.
To the aged,keeping health is necessary,especially in traveling abroad.
Northern California is a good choice.

" 就是簽証豁免計劃。意思是台灣人到美國免簽證，二〇一二年十一月一日生效。"
到美國旅遊，對年長者來說，北加州是個好選擇。在舊金山灣區住的中國人超過一百萬，英語不是問題，我們曾準備英語對話用於通關，結果海關人員對我們說中文，機場工作人員也會以中國話提供協助。不必擔心對美國食物倒胃口，這裡有中國超市一大華和永和超巿，還有許多中國餐廳。
這裡氣候溫暖白天有陽光，早晚較涼爽，適宜旅行。對年長者保持健康是必需的，尤其是在國外旅遊，北加州是個好選擇。

Reading "Steve Jobs" ,I know the founders of Apple,Face Book,Google living in Palo Alto. My grandchildren know Jeremy Lin growing in here.Coming to
the city is excited.
The site of Apple Store is at Standford Shopping Center in Palo Alto,next to the famous store,a new store Micro Soft fighting against here. Who will win the battle at last?Lots of people in the world want to know.
Apple iphone5,mini iPad,iPad2 are attractive to generations people ,because of easy to learn.Crowded people come in and out in order,trying the new product.The expert young workers serve in patient.People Focus on surfing new things,no noise,no drink ing,diffent from the other traditional stores.To pay the credit card for iPad2 ,the worker signs on the code barer to finish the business quickly.
Shopping in Apple store is an amazing experience to me .This is a new area I never considered before.

( 紐約正遭遇超級颶風桑迪的破壞，沒電，沒水，交通癱瘓，通訊中斷，股票交易停巿。好恐怖!
但是，加利福尼亞州風和日麗。)
讀過賈伯斯傳，我知道蘋果，臉書和谷歌的創辦人都住在帕洛奧圖。我的孫子知道林書豪成長於此。來到這個城巿超興奮的。
蘋果總店座落在帕洛奧圖的史丹福購物中心，微軟的新店緊隣蘋果，宣戰意味濃厚。誰將最後勝出，全世界的人都拭目以待。
蘋果iPhone 5，迷你iPad，iPad2 因為容易學習，吸引了各年齡層的人。群眾很有秩序的進進出出，試用新產品，專業的工作人員很有耐性的服務。人們專注的拍滑新東西，安靜無聲也沒人拿飲料，不同於傳統商店的隨性。以信用卡付帳買了iPa2，員工迅速刷了條碼完成交易。
逛蘋果總店對我是很神奇的體驗。以前我從沒想過走進電腦產品專賣店。

Mother and Baby Party

"Are you sure to wear the used clothes? He is your first baby."

"Don't worry! Be happy! Look! It's so nice. My baby is getting bigger and bigger soon. The new born clothes almost  wear several days, then too small to wear."

At the Party, many couples share their baby care experiences and donate their unfit baby clothes,diapers,toys,milks,beds and strollers . Then they take their need. A couple will have a new baby getting all love and blessing.

The babies from one month to one year old are gathering. The parents appreciate the growing at the different stages.

The grandparents share the generation's idea.

After the party ,they get the new information about choosing nurse,day care and taking care of their babies well.

I like the friendship party,so kind and generous,helpful to each other.At once they become friends and supporters.

嬰兒與母親的聚會
" 你確定要穿這些舊衣服嗎?他是你的第一個孩子。"
" 不要操心，快樂一奌，看! 這些衣服多美好。我的孩子會很快一天天長大，這些新生兒的衣服差不多再穿幾天，就會太小不能穿。"
在聚會中，許多夫婦分享他們的育嬰經驗，也捐出他們已經不合適的嬰兒服，尿布，玩具，奶粉，床和嬰兒推車。然後交換他們所需。有一對即將臨盆的夫婦得到所有人的愛與祝福。
大家把一個月到一歲大的嬰兒聚集起來，父母親一起欣賞孩子不同階段的成長。祖父母們也分享長輩的育嬰理念。
經過這個聚會，他們得到有関選擇保姆和育嬰中心的新資訊，知道如何把孩子照顧得更好。我喜歡這友誼的聚會，親切慷慨且彼此幫助，他們很快成為朋友和相互扶持者。

A high price

Mom.........the sharp voice alarms that something happened.An ambulance hurrys
to that scene ,sending the  hurt to the hospital emergency immediately.
"Oh! Americn is efficient and polite."
"Of course.Do you know the price of the accident?"
"He must pays the bill of US$5,000 to start an ambulance,US$1,000 to the hospital emergency,then a terrible fare of medicine."
"I knew that a new baby was born by nature in the hospital.The bill is over US$20,000 ,to exchange Taiwan's cash for NT$600,000."
It's hard to live in America without insurance.

尖銳的警笛聲，一定發生事故了。接著一輛救護車急馳往現場，立刻送傷患去醫院急診。
" 哇!美國人真有效率又有禮貌。"
" 當然，你知道這意外的代價嗎? "
" 他啓動救護車必須付五千美元的帳單和一千美元的醫院急診費，接著還有可怕的診療費用。"
" 這個我懂，一個自然生產的初生兒，醫院帳單超過二萬美元，折合台幣六十萬元。"
在美國生活如果沒有保險是很艱難的。

Foster City (1)

Foster City is a beautiful,young city, designed for living a happy life.
In fact,the great lake is an artificial lake and the river is a canal. This is a part of SanFrancisco Bay area, the sea water flowing  in and out,but peaceful and calm.Various kinds of water birds are gathering,white storks flying in the breeze always catching my eyes.Many pretty houses stand around the Bay shore,the chimneys on their sloping roofs.In the beautiful gardens,the colorful roses are in full bloom ,and apple trees,cherry trees,lemon trees are plenty of fruits.Walking in the scenery is like into the twinkling Christmas card.
福斯特巿 ( 1 )
福斯特巿是個美麗又年輕的城巿，是以幸福生活為指標設計的。
事實上，大湖是個人工湖泊，河流其實是運河。她是舊金山灣區的一部分，海水隨著潮汐進出，水面平滑安靜。水面上聚集許多不同種類的水鳥，白鷺鷥在微風中飛翔，最是吸睛。沿著灣岸圍繞著許多有著煙囱斜屋頂的漂亮房子。美麗的花園中色彩繽紛的玫瑰盛開，蘋果樹、櫻桃樹、檸檬樹都結實纍纍。走在其中好像走進閃閃發亮的聖誕卡景緻中。

An aged man with poor English comes to a strange city, no car, no GPS ,how to know the city?
"I have a map and a small simple tool-compass( Chinese had used it for thousands years).I am sure the main road - Hillsdale and Edge Water,then I can go anywhere if  I know the direction. I am not afraid of losing my way ."
N.R. planed a course to visit every park,plaza ,supermarket,around the lake,along the river ,over the bridges,through the streets,lanes,paths. Everyday he walked with light steps to visit the city.

"你怎麼知道去CF家的路? "
"我靠衞星導航。"
一個年長者到一個陌生的城市，以有限的英語，沒有車又沒衞星導航，要如何知道怎麼走?
"我有一張地圖和一個小工具一指北針 (中國人已經使用幾千年 ). 我祇要確定兩條主要道路一Hillsdale和 Edge Water ,然後不管走到那裡，我知道方向就不怕迷路。"
NR 自行規劃行程去拜訪每一個公園，商業廣場，超市。繞大湖，沿河流，過橋，穿過大街小巷和河邊小徑。每一天他都以輕快的腳步去拜訪福斯特巿。

Here the geese come

Along the river, flocks of geese fly over the sky in V- shaped flight formation, then staying in here.
" Fly away home" the movie, we watched a girl brought a flock of geese from Canada flying to the warm place, living through the winter.
Here, there, they are just standing before me. A flock of geese take a walk on the grass and eat them. A child joins them,they  still eating their breakfast elegantly.A funny senior opens the gate giving them a shower, they enjoying it gracefully. The others swim on the water to  follow the leader in line. Some flutter actively playing with each other.
All people like the birds migration, the drivers waiting for them across the road, the bikers giving the way to them.Nobody complains their stools on the path.
大雁來了
沿著河流，一群群的大雁越過藍天以V型隊形飛來，然後停留在這裡。
" 返家三千哩 "在影片中，我們看到一個女孩帶領一群大雁從加拿大飛向溫暖的地方生活度過寒冬。哇!這兒那兒它們就站在我面前。成群的大雁在草地上散步吃草。一個小孩走進雁群，它們依舊優雅的吃早餐。一個有趣的老人家打開後門潑了一盆水給它們沖澡，它們拍拍趐膀斯文的享受淋浴。其他大雁有的追隨領導排隊游泳，有的活躍的振趐嬉戲在一起。
人們都喜歡這些候鳥，開車的人耐心的等候它們穿越馬路，騎腳踏車的年輕人讓路給它們，沒有人抱怨它們在小徑上到處大便。
